Elizabeth was surprised, and this, coupled with the constricting corset, caused her to faint and topple over the battlements. She plunged into the water far below, narrowly missing the rocks, and sank to the sea bed.

Will asks Tia Dalma if she can bring Weatherby back from the dead, but Tia Dalma explains that she cannot because Weatherby has already made his peace in death.
The children's novel version of the work contains a scene not in the film, wherein the reader is made privy to how Weatherby learns the full lore of Davy Jones' heart. Weatherby talks to Davy Jones, who tells him that Elizabeth is dead, killed by the Kraken.
Well, On Stranger Tides less so than the others, but even the divisive Dead Men Tell No Tales continues the trend of a three-dimensional love story that sails beyond the typical fare of a solitary obsession with romance. After all, love is a complex thing. We fall in love, platonically love people, and tumble head over heels for ideologies and even things.
Pirates of the Caribbean explores all of that. Strap on your favourite love-heart eye patch, and step aboard the HMS Love Boat for an unravelling of why one of the best adventure series for the most part of the 21st century is, in fact, one of the most all-encompassing love stories. Fairly warned be thee, says I. The Curse of the Black Pearl is clearly a Star Wars the original, that is or The Matrix-type first movie, in that sequels were dependent on success. Because of this, Black Pearl works as a standalone story with a mostly traditional love story.
Poor Will loves rich Elizabeth. But when Black Pearl became a huge hit and sequels were ordered, screenwriting duo Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio had to scramble to expand everything in a way that made Black Pearl feel like a first chapter in a charted series.
